Frequently asked questions

How does a trade-up contract work?

A trade-up contract takes 10 skins of the same rarity and combines them into one random skin of the next rarity tier up. The outcome is weighted by the float/wear values and collections of the skins you put in, so the result isn't purely random, it's calculated based on exactly what you contribute.

Do all 10 skins need to be from the same collection?

No. You can mix skins from different collections as long as they're all the same rarity. Each collection you include has a chance to appear in the outcome pool, proportional to how many skins from that collection you used.

Does the wear/float of my skins affect the outcome?

Yes. The float value of your input skins is averaged to determine the float range of the resulting skin, which affects its wear condition (and therefore its value). Using lower-float skins generally produces a better-condition output.

Is this calculator's math the same as in-game?

The calculator mirrors BloxStrike's actual trade-up logic, which works the same way as CS2's trade-up system: same rarity requirement, same 10-skin contract size, and the same collection-weighted outcome pool.

Can I lose value on a trade-up?

Yes, trade-ups are a gamble, not a guaranteed profit. The outcome skin can be worth less than what you put in, especially if the possible outcome pool includes several low-value skins. Use the outcome list below to check the full range of possibilities before committing.
